Admiral Discusses Navy Roles and Responsibilities

Admiral Tina Alvarado spoke to the club Wednesday June 1 as part of a Navy outreach program. The Navy schedules several dozen outreach engagements a year, targeting communities with little or no Navy presence. Since less of 1 percent of the population serve in the Armed Forces, the goal is to educate the public about the services the Navy provides to the country both in peacetime and war. A Farewell to a Great Rotarian

Later today, several members of the Rotary Club of North Raleigh will gather with friends and family to bid farewell to a great friend and an even better Rotarian. Junius (Jack) Andrews was a formidable man in our community. Jack was born in Asheville, but moved to Raleigh as a child and became a lifelong resident of this city. He married in 1947 and was married to Alma Andrews for fifty-two years before she passed several  years ago.
