Dr. Stanley Elliott talks Education

Dr. Elliott is the VP for Student Affairs at Shaw University. He talked about his upbringing in rural Eastern NC and the history that led him to be the first of generation in his family to be a college graduate. Johanna Lynch Talks About Beginnings for Parents of Children Who are Deaf

Ms. Johanna Lynch discussed the Beginnings organization at the club meeting on Wednesday January 7th. Beginnings associate Kelleigh Bland also attended. Ms. Lynch is a Parent Educator/Special Initiatives Coordinator for Beginnings and their families. It’s about helping children and their families with hearing loss. She is a Governor-appointed member of the NC Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and a parent representative on NC’s Agenda Task Force. Ms. Lynch works to promote early identification, improve educational outcomes & ensure parents understand their options. Ms. Lynch has 2 children, one of which is hard of hearing.
