The club held it’s biannual roadside cleanup project on Lynn Road October 29th. The club is part of the DOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program servicing Lynn Road between Lead Mine and Ray Road. Club Members Clean Up at Shelley Lake

Today our club held its biannual Shelly Lake Park community service clean-up project, hosted by Paul Stone, Director of our club’s Community Service Committee. Fourteen club members, plus thirteen family members and guests, participated. It was a sunny day and a great time was had by all. This service project benefits not only our community, but also helps our club satisfy its $5,680 annual service Give Back obligation to Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department for the use of the Sertoma Arts Center to hold our weekly club meetings. North Raleigh Rotary Recognizes 4-Way Test Winners and Scholarship Recipients

The Rotary Club of North Raleigh gave recognition to recent award recipients on Wednesday April 20th. The club heard from Stephanie Lake, Senior Director of Foundation Relations & Administration for Wake Tech, who spoke about the TC & Bill Parker Scholarships awarded to two students (a third was awarded directly by the club). Khaled Ali received $1000 towards his education and thanked the club for assistance in achieving his goals. He will be attending UNC Chapel Hill starting in the spring of 2017. Club Members Deliver Gifts to Total Life Center

The Rotary Club of North Raleigh delivered gift bags to the members of the Total Life Center. The Club has been doing this for the past 7 years. Matt Johnson organized the event again this year. Members in attendance were Matt and his wife Madi, Chris Morden and his son Scott, Mike Wienold and his son Will, Mike Aoun’s daughter Mira, Stephen Dieckhaus and his fiance Maritza, Linda Brooks, Scott Tarkenton and Matthew Kane. Ed Smallwood and Frank Edwards also worked at the gift wrapping session. Club members met at Sertoma Art Center to package the gifts, 61 in total.

Winter 2015 Roadside Clean Up

8 club members braved the cold and other obstacles this past Saturday morning to pick up trash along Lynn Road between Lead Mine and Ray Roads. Lead by project chair Paul Stone, Jerry Patterson, Stephen Dieckhaus, Ed Smallwood, Scott Tarkenton, Mike Wienold, Steven Nelson and Chris Morden all joined in the fun as did Stephen Dieckhaus’s partner Maritza Ortiz, Mike Wienold’s son, Paul Stone’s son and Jerry Patterson’s grandson.
