  • President Jason Potts asked member Howie Feldman to read today's invocation.
  • Lauren DeRuyter was a guest of Dr. Richard Adelman. Lauren is a Wake Forest University student planning on a career as a Physician's Assistant. She is following Richard as he visits with patients in his office.
  • Dr. Gayle Greene is Executive VP for Wake Tech Community College. She spoke about the upcoming $349 million bond referendum which will appear on the ballot November 6, 2018. Wake Tech has 74,000 students at 10 locations. The bond funds will allow Wake Tech to expand to meet the growing demand for higher education and workforce training in Wake County and beyond.
  • Rod Frankel gave a fascinating presentation about his travels to Kenya, Africa 3 years ago. The organization is ME TO WE. For 2 weeks he and several other people assisted local Kenyans in digging a foundation for a schoolhouse in a very remote area of Kenya. The organization's intent, besides helping to build the school foundation was to assist in EDUCATION, WATER & SANITATION, HEALTH, ALTERNATIVE INCOME, AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY. 50% of profits sold from making all kinds of jewelry, clothing and craft items went to the construction of the school.
