Happy New Year! 2015 is off to a very busy start for me both personally and in my business and things are about to start picking up with Rotary as well. The two biggest items for the calendar so far are the District Conference and our first annual Casino Night fundraiser. The District Conference is in New Bern this year and will be the weekend of April 24th – 26th. District Governor Matthew Kane and his team have planned a fun weekend full of events and fellowship opportunities. Also, Dee Dee Heard is planning a dinner for all of the North Raleigh Rotary members who are attending for Friday night. I understand that Dee Dee always does a fabulous job planning these meals so I am especially looking forward to that! You can register now on the District website so I’d encourage you to go ahead and block off that weekend and plan to come with us to New Bern!

The other bog event that is fast approaching is our first annual Casino Night Event! The big night is on March 28th and tickets will be available for purchase coming up on February 1st. We will need everyone’s help at that time to really push the event and invite their friends and family. Tickets are $75/each and include 2 free drink tickets, heavy appetizers, and a fun evening of casino table games such as blackjack, craps, and roulette. Right now we still need help securing a few more sponsors for the event. We still have room for 2 more Gold sponsors at $500 each and 2 more Silver sponsors at $250 each. The Gold sponsorships come with 1 free ticket to the event and include signage at a playing table and the company’s logo on the event website. The Silver sponsorship includes signage at a dining table and the company’s logo on the event website. This event has a chance to be a huge fundraiser for our club. We have really benefitted from our association with the Frankie Lemmon Foundation over the years, but after those fundraisers we had to send half the proceeds raised to that organization. With this event, 100% of the proceeds stay with our club! We need everyone’s help securing sponsors so that we can cover 100% of our costs and any tickets sold will go towards helping the many organizations that we support. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!
