It’s hard to believe I am more than a month into my Presidency! Time is flying and we have some exciting things going on with the club.

Our club’s biggest fundraiser is right around the corner with the Ed Shook Golf Tournament. The tournament is on Monday, September 8th and we can help in 2 different ways. As always, we are selling raffle tickets and sponsorships. The raffle tickets are the same price as in previous years – $25 each or 5 for $100. The tops prizes are printed on the tickets this year and include a 7 night stay in Williamsburg and a 7 night stay in Myrtle Beach. There will be other prizes as well to be announced closer to the tournament. Chris Morden announced a little incentive today at the meeting. Every member that sells 10 tickets will be entered into a drawing to win a bottle of wine. The deadline to turn in your money, ticket stubs, and any unsold tickets is Wednesday September 3rd. This doesn’t give us a ton of time so please get out there and sell as many as you can. This is one of the only ways we raise money for the multiple charities we support so we need your help! The other way to help is to volunteer the day of the event. You can sign up to volunteer using this link If you have any questions about raffle tickets or volunteering please call or email Chris Morden at 919-876-1400 or Chris will have raffle tickets with him the next several meetings for you to pick up if you didn’t get any today.

Nina O’Neal mentioned our Fall Social today as well. Please save the date for Saturday October 11th. We will be having a fun fellowship event at Ed Smallwood’s and Mike Aoun’s houses. More details to follow!

On the District level we have the 3rd annual Rotary Global Run 4 Water coming up on Sunday September 28th at the Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary. We had a good turnout at this event last year and I’d encourage you to participate this year. More details can be found here:

We have several other exciting events and fundraisers in the works so look for details on those in the next few weeks. I am excited about the momentum we have for the start of the Rotary Year and look forward to serving with you over the next few months.
