November 25, 2015 was the Club’s annual Family Day meeting. Many members are typically on the road or at home preparing to host for the Thanksgiving holiday but the members who are able to come, bring family members to share our meeting. Allie Potts, the better half of club member Jason Potts, spoke to the club about the importance of family as related to her journey toward literary success.

Allie wears many hats. She is a mother, author, and director of engineering at a local contract manufacturing firm. In addition to her day job, she is the published author of two books: An Uncertain Faith and The Fair & Foul. She is also the owner operator of, where she writes weekly on topics revolving around the glamorous life of a working mom, lessons learned the hard way and the agony and ecstasy of becoming as “authorpreneur”. Occasionally she is even funny.

Allie was born in Rochester Minnesota and moved to North Carolina as a child when her parents sought out a more forgiving climate. She has since called North Carolina home, ultimately settling in Raleigh in 1998.
