Fellow Rotarian and close friend Terry Hutchens wrote the following memorial for Jake. The members of the Rotary Club of North Raleigh will keep JJ and all of Jake’s family in our hearts. President’s Corner – June 25, 2015

I made it! I made it through the year as Rotary President that is! I can’t believe how fast this year went by. Member Spotlight: Falling in Love with Rotary

It is always a special moment when two people find each other in a way that causes a lifetime commitment to each other. For Jake and J.J. Jolliff, that moment occurred thanks to their involvement with the Rotary Club of North Raleigh.  JJ joined the club in 2002 and Jake’s first wife passed away in 2003 after more than 50 years of marriage. They began to date in 2005 and married the following year.   Jake, who was honored at the Holiday party this month for his many years of service to the club, had an early experience with Rotary.

Nearly 80 Rotarians and family members gathered to share the Holiday season on Wednesday, Dec. 18th.  The evening began with a social hour with a cash bar to be followed by dinner. President Steven Nelson called upon Rotarian George McGill to lead the gathered  in grace prior to the meal. The program included several presentations to members of the club with Past Presidents Mack Parker and Erik Grunwald being honored as Paul Harris Society members, which means they have committed to donate at least $1,000 a year to the
