Time is nearing for the annual North Raleigh Rotary golf tournament at Wildwood Green Golf Club. It is shaping up to be a great event with a wonderful turnout. It is scheduled for April 22nd with a 1 pm shotgun start. The driving range will open at 11 am with lunch around 11:30.

One thing that makes this event special this year is the club’s decision to dedicate this year’s tournament to the memory of our recently departed member and friend, Jack Andrews. As you previously read, he was a very beloved and active member of our club. An avid golfer, he had volunteered the previous three years and had volunteered to do registration again this year. He will be missed.

It is fitting and will be memorable that his two daughters have volunteered for our event and will be doing the registration in place of their father. The family of Jack is very important to our club and his son-in-law is a past member of our club before moving out-of-town.

As a final note to this entrance, the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of North Raleigh has decreed that this tournament will be known as the Jack Andrews Memorial Golf Tournament in the future. It is a small gesture, but one that will keep his memory alive within our club for many years to come.

If you are interested in playing in this event, we are still accepting teams and individuals. The official deadline has past, but we will make allowances as the ultimate goal is to raise money for the many charities that the club supports.

A foursome that includes a hole sponsorship is only $350 and individuals can play for $87.50. All the proceeds will go towards programs and projects that we sponsor and promote. Contact me at Steven@BackNineHomes.com and I can get you the information you need to join us.
