Twice a year our club has a picnic in the “Rotary Park” just off Millbrook Road. Representatives from the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department joined us for lunch to host a discussion about funding local park maintenance projects.

The speaker for today’s “fall” meeting was David Shouse, Natural Resource Administrator for Raleigh. David spoke about the upcoming RALEIGH PARKS BOND REFERENDUM which will be on the ballot November 4th. The City believes we have one of the best park systems in the country but many facilities are aging and need maintenance or modernization.
